80th Birthday Party

In 1943, a crew of kids were born in Cape Breton and they included a few from 1942 and 1944 in their gang. They started school together at Argyle, Ashby, St. Joseph's, Central and Colby, and played sports, attended Hi-Y, dances, the beach and more. They went out into the world and accomplished great things. Most importantly, in a time before the internet and social media, they stayed friends. They created enduring friendships and relationships that spanned more than seven decades.

Those in attendance raised a glass to their friends who were unable to attend and to those no longer with them.

These photos celebrate their shared 80th birthday party at Stuart MacLeod's home in Northside East Bay. Missing from the group photo are John Read and Catherine (McLeod) Read.
